At Grace Christian Fellowship, we desire to help individuals and families grow in their relationship to Christ.  We celebrate child dedication and believer’s baptism several times a year during our worship services.  Classes, which meet one time, usually at 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. on a Sunday, provide information about these topics.  Contact the church office for more information at 607-749-3233.

Child Dedication

At GCF, we practice Child Dedication, where parents acknowledge each child as a gift from God and their responsibility as parents to bring up each child “in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4) in the hope that each child would someday come to personal saving faith in Christ.

At GCF, for youths and adults who give public testimony and profession of saving faith, we practice believer’s baptism by immersion.

What is Baptism?

There are two ordinances that the Protestant church practices and celebrates,
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward reality-

that I belong to Christ and I am a child of God.  It is a sacred act that points to our connection/union with Jesus and when we look back on the time and circumstances of our coming to faith and coming to baptism, we point to what God has done in saving us and how we now identify ourselves with Him.
