Children’s Ministry @ Grace
Our mission:  to help children know God and grow to become like His son, Jesus Christ.

Our church is committed to fulfilling Jesus’ command in
Matthew 19:14 to let children come to him. We welcome children with special needs to worship with us and attend children’s ministry activities.
To learn more, contact our Children’s Ministry Director, Andrea Niggli, at aniggli@gcfcortland.org or (607)749-3233.

Our Program
Our children’s program is the same at both services. Sign in at the entrance to the children’s wing. All children 3 years through 5th grade will gather in Room 10 for our large group session. From there we divide into smaller groups where we study the lesson in depth. We regroup in Room 10 for dismissal.

To register for Nursery or Grace Kids
For the safety of your children, and to better plan our classes, we ask parents/guardians to register their children using the KidCheck* system. If your child is already registered in the KidCheck system, simply sign them in as usual at the Children’s Ministry window Sunday mornings. If you need to register your child click on the link below:

Safe & Caring Environment
*KidCheck is an electronic check-in system designed to allow for speedy check-in, while ensuring your child is safe while in our care. The system involves using a computerized check in with barcode scanner and label printers. Children receive a label at check-in and will only be released to a guardian possessing the matching label numbers.  If a parent is needed for an emergency during the service, the child’s number will be shown on the screen in the sanctuary.  There is also a security volunteer checking the children’s area during the service times.
Our Staff
Our programs are staffed by wonderful volunteers from our church family.  Before serving in any children’s ministry area, all volunteeers must complete a thorough background check.

*We wish to help families worship together!

Worship offers children an opportunity to grow in their understanding of God’s love for them and his desire for their lives. Worship as a family together at either 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m., and then attend “Sunday School” during the other hour. Parents can participate in an Adult Connections Group while children attend Grace KIDS. Please note, the Grace KIDS curriculum is the same at both worship hours; therefore it is not recommended that your children attend two Sunday School classes on Sunday morning. To assist you in attending worship as a family, we have children’s activity sheets and crayons for your kids. In addition, our cry room located in the back of the sanctuary is available for parents and little ones with toys and a speaker to hear the service. A separate room for nursing mothers is also available.
